AN INVITATION TO DONATE AN ITEM FOR MENTORS MATTER’S SILENT AUCTION

 

 

You are invited to contribute a silent auction item for Mentors Matter’s Winter Wake Up “Mentor Moments” Fund Raiser to be held at Parkesburg Baptist Church, Parkesburg, PA on Saturday, February 24, 2007 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.  This year we are having a wonderful evening which includes music and writer/speaker Jacqueline Carter, who will be presenting “Futures Past” a look at the importance of sharing what we know with our youth. Mrs. Carter works as the Church Administrator at New Life in Christ Fellowship, Coatesville, Pennsylvania, is the Site Coordinator for the PA Cyber School Co-op for Boys and the site coordinator for the SAFE program; a program which has benefited many of the Chester County school districts.

 

We plan to have approximately 20-30 items on the silent auction, ranging in retail value from $10 to $500 (or more).  We look to have a variety of items for the silent auction such as antiques, artwork, pottery, photography, memberships, trips, dinner certificates, crafts and much, much more. Guests will receive a bid number when they arrive and will bid on items throughout the evening.  The proceeds will benefit Mentors Matter’s work with senior citizens and youth through mentoring.

 

We would like to have your response on silent auction item donations by the last week of January 2007 so that we may advertise the items in our flier about the event.

 

The mission of Mentors Matter is to serve as a faith based outreach within the community to help young people through their adolescent years; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.  Mentors Matter reaches kids through intergenerational mentoring to utilize the life experience of older adults.
