The Bridge follows the same mission as Mentors Matter, yet pairs mentors of any age with kids of any age.
The Mentors Matter Intergenerational program and The Bridge has had phenomenal successes due to the structure of the program.

Involves students in community service to instill the importance of “giving back” to the community.
Provides Teen Time~ training times teaching kids to empower themselves with positive decision making tools pertaining to peer pressures, alcohol/tobacco & drug prevention and environmental stressors.
Sponsors special family events with youth, mentors and families, which promote unity with the families, mentors and youth
Studies show that kids enrolled in a program such as Mentors Matter’s The Bridge which uses a research based model, gain a better understanding of the adults/elderly, have increased attendance at school/work, make better life decisions, get better grades, learn to reach out and help others, and feel better about their selves. |
