Community Outreach |
|
One of the components of the Mentors Matter program is Community Outreach. Through Community Outreach, our desire is to teach the youth the importance of giving back to the community in which they live. Mentors Matter requires each mentee to give only 2 hours each month for Community Outreach. There are various opportunities to give back to the community such as helping out at the Parkesburg Point, visiting residents at the Harrison House or helping out at your local library. (Please be sure to check our list of additional Community Outreach opportunities). Youth are to submit their Community Outreach hours to Coordinator, Terry Burkey. If you need additional forms they may be downloaded here. Many of our youth exceed the required 2 hours and each quarter we award the mentee who has the most Community Outreach hours in with a special acknowledgement and gift of appreciation. Please feel free to contact the Community Outreach Coordinator for any questions, forms or ideas for group or individual opportunities for outreach. |
