Strike & Spare Bowling March 19th 2006

Mentors Matter hosts Family bowling outing for Program Participants

Parents, siblings, mentors and mentees turned out for the Mentors Matter bowling outing on Sunday, March 19th held at Strike & Spare lanes in Oxford. Lanes were full as mentors bowled with their mentees, chatted with parents and enjoyed a fun afternoon interacting with other program members.

Mentee Ashley Pate fell into hysterics as she hoisted the ball the wrong way, the girls on another lane were excited with their high scores over the boys on their lane and parents had a great times watching and bowling with their children.

The mission of Mentors Matter is to serve as a faith based outreach within the community to help young people through their adolescent years; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Mentors Matter pairs teens with mentors 50+, teaches the importance of giving back to the community through Community Outreach, facilitates outings which include the mentors, mentees and their families and also has “Teen Time” to help kids in making positive life decisions.

We also now offer, The Bridge for mentors of any age for kids of any age, so everyone can be a part of this great outreach!

Would you please consider being a mentor to a young person?  We only ask that you spend 1-2 hours a week, we provide training and ongoing support.  Please help to make a difference in the life of a young person.

Please contact Mentors Matter if you would like to consider being a mentor and check out our web site at www.mentorsmatter.org for additional program information.
